My Dad passed away Sunday from
complications from multiple sclerosis and prostate
cancer. This site was one of the big loves of
his life. My brother and I suggested he start
a MN hockey website back in 1998 (I think) when his
MS was starting to limit his mobility. I
thought it would keep him busy. I just didn't
know how busy.
If anyone is interested in
taking over this site, please contact me at eric@mnprogressiveproject.com.

An old
English proverb, "All good things must come to an
end."
I
have multiple sclerosis. I feel fortunate that
the deterioration has been slow. No peaks and
valleys.
I
have cancer of the prostrate gland. That was
kept at bay for a while with meds.
Had a severe stabbing pains in my upper chest.
This was the manifestation of cancer in the T-4
vertebra of my spinal cord. Operation,
recovery, and therapy in the hospital took five
weeks.
The prostate cancer spread to the bones in my chest
cavety.
I basically have two choices for treatment:
(a) vigorously attack the cancer with chemo and
radiation therapy. This may buy me a few
more mouths of life. But my "quality of life"
goes to hell.
(b) enroll in a hospice home care situation.
The staff is concerned with keeping me
comfortable and free of pain.
My family and I selected hospice home care.
So, I'm fine (relatively speaking), relatively free of pain
(thanks to the pain killers), and going
about each day as best I can. |
