Jen Retka played in goal for six years of ringette. |

Before the inaugural season started, Coach Palmquist
asked Jen if she would play "back there". In
goal is where she played for several years of
ringette, otherwise she'd be playing as a defender. |
Eight
games into the 19945-95 season, Jen was 8-0, having
been in the net for every game. Despite her
success, she wanted to skate as a forward or on
defense. The team captains promised that she
would get to skate at least once before the season
is over.
"I'm a good shooter, and I can skate pretty good.
I'd just like to get the chance to skate out.
Then maybe I'd realize whether I like stopping
breakaways better than scoring goals."
