Jenna
started skating at about age four. Actually started in
figure skating.
After about 3 years however, she wanted to do what her
brothers did - - - play hockey. So in 2nd grade, she
was signed up with the local girls hockey program.
Jenna then
made the decision to skate with the boys for her 4th, 5th,
and 6th grade years. That's two years of Squire A and
one year of Pee Wee. She was even a captain. Her
father, Michael Kilpatrick, was the coach. And he
recalls having a ball with Jenna and the other players
Her older
brother, Jimmy Kilpatrick, made first team all-state as a
senior. Jimmy was captain of the Holy Angels
team that finished the regular season rated No.1 in the
state. |

Jenna Kilpatrick
No.7
New Prague |
|
|
|
Jenna has put New Prague on the Minnesota
high school girls hockey map.
No.2 all-time career scorer with 483 points.
As far as her coach, Dan Gullickson, is
concerned, Jenna's legacy is more than just
goals and assists. "We haven't lost a
player to another program since she got
here," Dan said. "That's very
important in a community of our size."
"What she has done for our program will
never be matched by anyone else. She
will go down as one of the best players in
the history of girls' hockey. And when
anybody thinks of New Prague girls' hockey,
they will think of Jenna Kilpatrick."
New Prague
coach Dan Gullickson
Jenna
will be the first player to finish their
high school hockey career at New Prague and
go on to play Division I hockey.
Two others
who played hockey for the Trojans,
then played
Division I. But
neither finished their high school career in
New Prague. |
This year's team (2006-07) never reached
their potential. Jenna ended up
playing D about 20-25% of the year.
New Prague lacked offense when she dropped
back but she
did it for the team and never questioned her
duties.
She had a great year with trying to help all
the kids learn the game better. She
took the new younger girls under her wing
and they just love her. She was the
big sister [to them].
