Kallie
is the only one to play hockey in her family (including
brother and father). Never
played boys hockey either. In
seventh grade she made the move from Girls' U12 B hockey to
Varsity and was All-Conference Honorable Mention.
Pretty amazing that she was able to adapt so
quickly to such a change in levels . .
.
Most of what she
accomplished could be chalked up to natural ability.
She loved to shoot and
stickhandle in the garage, rollerblade around town.
She didn't start exceptionally early, but did
do a lot of hockey outside the winter season.
The
game of hockey and Kallie just seemed to be a good fit from
the start.

Coach Revels remembers seeing her play for the first
time in a youth hockey game. "You could tell she had some good skills," Revels said.
According to family members, her skills were coupled with her
dedication and enthusiasm for the sport. Her mother, Trisha Flor, recalls her daughter asking to play
hockey at the age of 5. "I don't even know how she found out about hockey," Trisha Flor
said.
In third grade, she said, even an attempt of reverse psychology
on her daughter backfired, as Kallie ended up loving to play hockey
and has played ever since.
Trisha Flor said at first she was afraid about checking, but was
relieved to discover there was no checking allowed in girls hockey.
With Kallie's speed and shiftiness on the ice, it would have been
amazing if another player could even get a pad on her anyway.
