Minneapolis Tribune,  Feb 20, 1966

Heading the first line [for International Falls] is Tim Sheehy, an All-State player the past two years and a lad whom Minnesota coach John Mariucci calls "the finest I've ever seen in this state".
The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Sheehy has 53 goals and 40 assists this season.   In the Region Seven championship game against Coleraine, all five Falls goals came off his stick.
Sheehy, Most-Sought Ever
Minneapolis Tribune,  Feb 24, 1966

No hockey player since John Mayasich had received the rush that Sheehy is getting.
Some of the experts rate the International Falls ace as the best ever to play in a State Hockey Tournament.
Minnesota and ever college with a hockey program has made an effort to interest the Falls senior.

Region 7 Tournament
International Falls 10 -- Grand Rapids 2
Duluth News-Tribune,  Feb 15,1966
Tim Sheehy's five-goal burst paced a 10-2 Bronco rout of game but outmanned Grand Rapids.   His five goals [and a couple assists] was the best individual output of  his distinguished career.
Halfway through the second period, Sheehy scored his second goal of the evening on a brilliant solo dash the length of the rink.   The muscular all-stater picked up the puck behind his own net, charged down the left side and broke down on the Rapids goalie off the wing.   He was almost on top of him before he flipped the puck between the goal tender's legs after a quick head fake.
International Falls 9 -- Hibbing 0
Duluth News-Tribune,  Feb 16,1966

Sheehy displayed another facet of his abundance of talent early in the game.   He controlled the face-off in the Hibbing zone, quickly maneuvered in with a dandy bit of stickhandling and nearly faked the Bluejacket goalie out of his skates for the second goal of the game.
Sheehy had one goal and three assists.
International Falls 5 -- Greenway 3
Duluth News-Tribune,  Feb 18,1966
Tim Sheehy made the Region 7 hockey championship his own playground Thursday night, scoring five goals in leading International Falls to its seventh state tournament berth in ten years.
A razzle-dazzle display of stickhandling enabled Sheehy to complete his hat trick midway through the second period.   He broke down the right wing and faked his way through the defense to come in on the goalie and score after the goaltender had committed himself.
The fabulous Bronco center completed possibly the greatest one-man regional show in the state's history.   He scored twice in each of the first two periods and added a finale in the third.
In all, Sheehy scored 11 goals in three regional games and added five assists.
State Tournament
International Falls 3 -- Blm. Kennedy 1
Duluth News-Tribune,  Feb 25,1966
The defending state champions [20-0-0], possibly taking upstart Bloomington Kennedy [8-6-4] too lightly, managed a hard-earned 3-1 triumph.
It was a lesson for the Falls in defensive tactics, hard-checking hockey, which threw their high-scoring attack out of gear.  But in the end, the Broncos had enough artillery in their arsenal to withstand their fired-up adversary.
Tim Sheehy fired his teams 's first two goals.
     Falls out-shot Kennedy 38-13.
International Falls 2 -- South St. Paul 1
Duluth News-Tribune,  Feb 26,1966
International Falls [21-0-0] earned the right to defend its state championship with a hard-earned victory over aroused South St. Paul [14-7-0].
Tim Sheehy had one goal.   South St.
P

Duluth News-Tribune,  Feb 27,1966

The all-conquering Broncos from the border annexed their third  straight title with a decisive 5-0 victory over Roseau in an all-Northern final.   It was the 28th victory without a defeat for Coach Larry Ross and his team and the 58th in a row since the Region 7 finals in 1964.
     Tim Sheehy had one assist.
